I bought a Nintendo Dsi and am loving it. However, I wanted to be able to Download DSi games like I do on my Nintendo Wii.

These days with the internet there is a wealth of information out there on all sorts of products. I was looking for Nintendo dsi downloads. I was surprised how little information there was out there. You can now download games for the Wii, Xbox and PS3 but it is very difficult to find a site where I could download Nintendo DSi games.

The first thing I tried was so called Torrent sites and P2P networks. Torrents are part of a Bit Torrent system. It is basically a giant peer to peer networking system that is based across the entire web. A peer to peer network will take bits and pieces of the file that you want to download ( torrent ) from different people that are connected to the network that already have that file. A bit torrenting software will take all those pieces and put them together into the file that you downloaded. The problem with Torrent sites and P2P networks is that files can be uploaded by anyone. No one monitors whether a file is infected by a virus or adware. This is the reason why hackers love these sites and use them to spread malicious code and viruses. In addition most files are pirated and break copyright laws.

Well….I nevertheless tried downloading a DSi game and infected my computer with a virus. I will never do it again and recommend you stay away from these sites as well.

So this was the first part of my journey for free Dsi downloads……. After that I joined several DSi membership sites. Most of them were crappy and I do not recommend them. There are only two DSi download sites I actually recommend:Overload Your Console (also compatible with DSi and DS Lite) and MyDSiDownloads – Pocketdownloadcenter.

Important note: 20th January 2012: I have been recommending DSi Downloader (dsidownloader.com) for a while. I no longer recommend this site! Fact is they have been good for a while. But now they have removed their customer support e-mail from their site and do no longer seem to offer any support. People are contacting me for support. However,  I am just a customer and affiliate myself. I am definitely not related to this site. Do not join them! Below are my favorite DSi Download sites I recommend.

My favorite DSi download site is Overload Your Console (also compatible with DSi!!!). it is perfect for downloading DSi games in a safe and virus free environment. They claim to have the largest DS and DSi download database on the internet. And that is obviously true. You can choose from thousands of DSi games, software, movies etc. Unlimited DS Downloads has been online for several years and they are here to stay and  they are definitely trustworthy.

Download speed is also very good. Customer support is responsive.  I also had no problem with customer support. I had a problem and contacte them. They did reply to my support request, within 24 hours. So if you want to download unlimited games for DSi, Overload Your Console is the place to go. Keep in mind that you only have to pay a onetime membership fee and after that you may download as many games as you like. This site is perfect for avid gamers.

My Dsi Downloads – Pocket Download Center  is my second favorite DSi download membership site. My DSi Downloads has a huge Nintendo DSi downloads database. It contains over 150,000 available downloads including: games, music, movies, software and much more. I really like the clean design. It does not only look professional, it definitely is professional. Customer support is top notch. I ran into a problem once and they replied to my e-mail in less than 2 hours. The download speed is lightning fast. Of course it also depends on your own internet connection.

Their database is updated DAILY. Even a total internet newbie who knows nothing about downloads can start downloading Dsi games by just following the step-by-step tutorial provided.

Navigation of the membership area is easy and straightforward. You can locate DSi games you’d like to download in seconds. I give 5 stars! Although my DSi has no problem in connection tests or with the Internet browser in the main menu with either WPA or WEP keys, I cannot connect to the Pokemon WiFi in game. I have a BT Home Hub which isn't on the list of routers nintendo has on their website but given that I can easily connect to the Internet browser I am assuming that there is no issue with that. I read a question similar to this which suggested putting the router into pairing mode but when I pressed the Wireless Association button on the side of my BT Home Hub 2.0 the lights on it flashed yellow but when I re-tried connecting in game it didn't work. I really have no clue what to try next so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

In an attempt to enter the handheld market and weaken the stranglehold Nintendo has long possessed over it, Sony extended its PlayStation line with the PlayStation Portable, or PSP, in 2005. It successfully launched despite a high price tag of $249.99, boasting a stylish appearance, respectable widescreen display and use of a new media called the Universal Media Disc (UMD) . Unfortunately, the PSP never really met the expectations Sony had for it. In fact, it barely dented Nintendo’s dominance, which has only gotten stronger with the Nintendo DS.

Sony has not given up on staking its claim in the handheld market, however. After three versions of the original PSP (1000, 2000 and 3000), Sony has decided to almost completely redo the PSP’s concept. With a different look, more compact size, internal memory and no UMD drive, the PSP Go is more a distant cousin of its predecessor than its brother or sister.

Some of the changes made to the handheld are very beneficial for gamers, while others only hurt it. Here are some pros and cons for the recently released PSP Go.

Pros

Size: The point of a handheld system is so that you can take it virtually anywhere. The Nintendo DS and original PSP models are sized to do that, but the PSP Go truly offers pocked-sized convenience. It’s smaller by about 1.5 inches in width than the PSP and weighs over an ounce less than the PSP-3000.

Games are downloaded: Sony has decided to go the iTouch and iPhone avenue with the PSP Go by making games solely downloadable. With the absence of a UMD drive, players must purchase and download games and other content from the PlayStation Network Store. A 16 GB internal memory is in the system to handle those downloads. Now you don’t need to worry about lugging around a bunch of UMDs to play games.

Price: When the original PSP retailed for $249.99 at launch, many people felt that was an outrageous price. The system was still scooped up, but it wasn’t without guilt. So, over four years later, Sony was determined to make the same mistake by yet again pricing its new release at the same price point. The PSP Go will run for $249.99, which is $50 over the regular version’s current price, only $50 less than the PlayStation 3 gaming console and $80 over the handheld king that is the Nintendo DSi.

No UMD Drive: The creation of the UMD was basically a failure for Sony. The media never really caught on for movies, most likely because they were priced just as much as DVDs yet could only be played on the PSP. And they were also exclusive to the PSP for games, which was fine if Sony didn’t intend on making the UMD a more universal media. Perhaps realizing the pointless nature of the UMD, Sony has decided to scrap it for the PSP Go by not including a UMD Drive. That allows for the more convenient approach of game downloads, but offers no way for owners of previous PSP models to play their games. They must instead hang on to their regular PSP, and therefore have no legitimate incentive right now to purchase the PSP Go version.
